Ontario’s first benchmarking of embodied carbon for large buildings

Mantle Developments, together with the University of Toronto’s Ha/f Research Studio and the City of Toronto, have produced the first benchmarking of embodied carbon for large buildings.

Developers, designers, and policymakers are increasingly prioritizing the quantification, management, and reduction of embodied carbon. Mantle Developments is proud to be leading pioneering efforts in partnership with the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto’s Ha/f Design Studio, and supported by funding from The Atmospheric Fund.

We’ve released Ontario’s first benchmarking of embodied carbon for large buildings. You can find our initial results and findings here.

We’ve also held industry workshops where this issue is further discussed and ideas on how it can be most effectively and efficiently managed through new policy at the municipal level were discussed. See a recording of one of these workshops here.
